#guyswardrobe: budget shopping!

Hello guys! Have been receiving questions from my friends recently about the places where I do my shopping and where do I get all the money for them. Must say they are not really convinced when I told them I don't spend a lot even though I admit I have an "unusual" quantity of clothes in my wardrobe lol. In actual fact, I usually only shop the "good" deals or in other words, cheaper-than-usual deals. In the past I would spend a lot to buy the big brands in hoping of wearing them will cover up for the lack of self-esteem and boost my "attractiveness" (which is literally nonexistence i know) but I came to realised that looking good doesn't really have to mean spending on all the expensive stuff!(i do slurge and pamper myself once in a while lah) So here in this blogpost I'm going to share a few lookbook inspirations I've chances upon and also provide links to affordable alternatives I found over at the ASOS Summer Sale so you can get the whole look for less than 100SGD! (or even way cheaperrr ) #goodthingsmustshare

I believe majority of us have heard of ASOS but probably not all have tried ordering from them before as guys are usually skeptical of online shopping, not sure of the sizing, material and shipping etc. So fret not! I've personally shop with ASOS for the longest time I can remember and the quality of their apparels are pretty good overall (but don't expect a 2pound T-Shirt to feel as good as a 100pounds Tee made-of-holymolyblahblahblacksheepwool lah). Although they offer free worldwide shipping, it takes around 2-3 weeks to be delivered so this might be a little bit of the turn off for guys cause most of my guy friends can't delay their gratification for nuts, no offense peeps! <3 But basically, I would probably say ASOS is one of the best place to bargain-hunt for cool stylish apparels at a much cheaper price as compared to the local market.

#1: The Varsity Jacket Look

I know the weather is being a bitch nowadays but that doesn't mean you can't have a jacket right? Besides, every guy needs a nice jacket for the boring lectures in the freezing lecture hall plus having a nice jacket gets you ready for the emergency situation whereby your date is freezing in the cinema and you get to take off your nice manly jacket for them. *insert cheekyface*

Varsity jacket helps inject life into your boring plain/graphic tees and jeans/chinos outfits. You can also pair it with your patterned/checkered shirts underneath if you're more experimental with patterns and layerings.

Alternatives to complete the look:
(zomg I swear varsity jackets cost a lot more when I was looking around to get mine.)

New Look Bomber Jacket in Sports Nylon £16
Who doesn't want a Nylon Sports Jacket that will look more expensive than how it actually cost?

An easy to match piece would be this black colored cotton-blended piece. Goes well with almost every outfit.

This is the piece that really caught my eye! Love how it incorporate the denim material into the jacket. But you guys should probably be warned that the grey sleeves (which is the lighter shade as compared to the denim) will make your arms look bigger, so guys with flabby arms should probably consider the other two that I've mentioned previously.

ASOS Shirt In Short Sleeve With Tartan Mid Scale Check £10

Checkered Shirts are coming back into the scene and this piece is definitely a steal at just £10! I know the weather is hot but do consider wearing some short-sleeve shirts instead of t-shirts everyday as wearing a shirt can really help makes it look like you did make en effort to dress up. For guys who are bothered by the white buttons, you can easily get the buttons changed at a local alteration shop for just $2-$4.

ASOS Check Shirt In Short Sleeve  £10

Pull&Bear Skinny Fit Jeans in Acid Wash £16
I totally love the fading on this jeans! I will probably get a dozen of this if I have the legs to wear them(which I sadly don't). You can also DIY to add on the rip jeans effect on this pair and I believe it's going to look even more badass \m/
p/s: jeans will be kinda elastic/stretched as it's made of the cotton-denim blend so people who don't like body-hugging clothes should probably skip this and head to the slim section.

New Look Jeans In Skinny Fit £12

ASOS Plimsolls With Toe Cap £12
Personally I will prefer to get footwear that cause a little more because comfort really matters to me and I don't want to risk the possibility of walking around town in a bad pair of shoes hurting my feet. That being said, consider getting a canvas shoe from converse or vans if your budget allows. But in any case if you're looking for a cheap pair or white canvas shoe, this can be a pretty good alternative with it's clean design. I like the contrasting stitch which adds on t the whole schoolboy look.

Alright, writing this post is taking it's tow on me. I need t go grab some comfort food to recharge for the lost brain juice and calories from moving my fingers typing this post. So thats all for this post on budget shopping at ASOS! The last time I checked these pieces still have sizes left so do act fast and grab them if you're interested to! Having said it all, pardon me for all the grammatical errors, please feel free to disagree with my choices and feel free to leave the page. no hate xx.

Not sure how I should go about starting this post. There's just so much negativity overwhelming me but I don't want to smear it all over other's computer/smartphone's screen. I know the sun is still shining bright and I shouldn't be so depressed yet but I am. Period.

Reading has always been a kind of enjoyment to me. I enjoy reading books because it gives me the chance to live through the many lives of others, seeing things in the world I will never get to see from my current perspective. I learnt a lot of things and I really appreciate all the positive things that reading bring about to my life. But today, I'm feeling more on the dark negative down side.

There's this one particular book I got recently which interest me so much I know I had to finish it in one sitting. I did, and it killed me. So much similar feelings from the book that I can relate with. I can't even stop thinking about it now. It makes me even sadder when I read about the happy parts in that book because I know these are the things that are never going to happen on me. I wish I had someone who could understand these feelings of mine, but I should probably not think about that because wishing for something gives you hope, and hope crush people sometimes.

I tried being positive; looking at the good things in my life, being thankful for them, but that doesn't mean I can just overlook all the bad things/empty spaces here and there, can I? Why do I feel so helpless at the running of my own life?

Guess I will stop here before my negativity spreads to anyone else even through the protection of their gadget's screens.

Here's a sad song for the other unhappy souls out there. Till next time! blaaaaaaaah.
